Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 31, 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website, operated by Akbar Star Express LLC (“Akbar Star Express,” “we,” or “us”), a motor carrier operating under US DOT Number 5094922 and MC Number 52174141. By accessing this website or submitting a request through it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Use of Website
This website is provided for general informational and business-inquiry purposes. You agree to use it lawfully, to submit accurate information, and not to interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, scrape content for competing commercial use, or submit unsolicited advertising through our forms.
2. Quote Requests Are Not Contracts
Information on this site, including any rate ranges, transit estimates, service areas, or equipment availability, is an invitation to inquire and not an offer. A quote request submitted through this website is a request for pricing only and does not create a binding transportation agreement, reserve capacity, or tender a load. Freight is accepted only after we confirm the load in writing (including by email, rate confirmation, or load tender) and the rate, equipment, pickup and delivery appointments, and accessorial charges are agreed.
3. Transportation Services
Transportation services are provided as a motor carrier in interstate and intrastate commerce and are governed by the executed carrier or broker-carrier agreement, the signed rate confirmation, and the bill of lading for each shipment. Where those documents conflict with these Terms, those documents control for the shipment concerned. Cargo liability, claims, and loss or damage are handled under the applicable agreement and, for interstate shipments, the Carmack Amendment (49 U.S.C. § 14706). Claims must be filed in writing within the time limits set by that agreement and applicable law.
4. Shipper Responsibilities
- Describe freight accurately, including weight, dimensions, piece count, and any special handling needs.
- Properly package, block, brace, label, and (where applicable) load and seal freight.
- Disclose hazardous materials in advance. We do not accept hazardous materials, firearms, live animals, or other restricted commodities unless expressly agreed in writing.
- Provide accurate loading and receiving hours, contacts, and site access details.
- Ensure legal weight distribution and lawful gross vehicle weight.
Inaccurate or undisclosed information may result in reweighs, rate adjustments, detention or layover charges, refusal of the load, or return of the freight at the shipper’s expense.
5. Rates, Payment, and Cancellations
Quoted rates are valid for the period stated in the quote and assume the freight, equipment, and schedule described. Payment terms are set out in the rate confirmation or carrier agreement. Additional charges may apply for detention, layover, truck-order-not-used, redelivery, reconsignment, lumper fees, stop-offs, or unexpected waiting time. Cancellations should be communicated as early as possible; a truck-order-not-used charge may apply once equipment has been dispatched.
6. Transit Times and Delays
Transit estimates are good-faith projections, not guarantees. We are not liable for delays caused by weather, road closures, traffic, accidents, equipment breakdown, facility delays, strikes, government action, hours-of-service limits, or other events beyond our reasonable control. Guaranteed or time-critical service is available only when agreed in writing in advance.
7. Driver Applications
Driver inquiries submitted through this website are preliminary and do not constitute an employment application, offer, or contract. All hiring is subject to our full application process, including verification of CDL status, driving record, employment history, and DOT-required screening. Akbar Star Express is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Employment, if offered, is at-will unless stated otherwise in a signed writing.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, layout, graphics, and the Akbar Star Express LLC name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written permission. Third-party names and marks that appear on the site remain the property of their owners.
9. Accuracy of Content
We work to keep website content accurate and current, but content may be changed, corrected, or removed at any time without notice. Nothing on this website should be relied upon as legal, regulatory, or insurance advice.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
This website is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this website. Nothing in this section limits our cargo liability or other obligations under an executed transportation agreement, the bill of lading, or applicable federal law.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes relating to this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, unless an executed transportation agreement provides otherwise for a specific shipment.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. The updated version takes effect when posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and your continued use of the site constitutes acceptance.
